Meet Kali
Hi, I’m Kali (she/her), founder of Haven Connection. I’m an associate therapist in North Carolina, a mom of two, and someone who believes deeply that healing starts with connection—the kind built through trust, honesty, and showing up as your real self.
The way I practice therapy is grounded and human. I’m authentic, present, and not a blank slate. I swear in session, welcome questions, and don’t expect you to have things figured out before you begin. This space is meant to feel safe enough for honesty and supportive enough for growth.
I’m also a breaker of generational cycles. I’ve done the hard, personal work of shifting my own attachment patterns toward greater security, and I understand on a real level how challenging—and meaningful—that process can be. That lived experience informs how I show up in this work: with patience, clarity, and deep respect for how hard it is to do.
I care deeply about the therapeutic relationship and work intentionally to build trust. Therapy here is collaborative rather than hierarchical—your voice, insight, and lived experience matter. You’re encouraged to speak up if something doesn’t land or if you’re curious about the process.
I believe change happens through honest, collaborative work. I’ll meet you with warmth, and I’ll also be transparent—reflecting patterns, asking thoughtful questions, and helping you make sense of what might be holding you back.
I show up authentically so you can do the same. Together, we make sense of what’s been influencing how you feel and function, while creating space for growth, stability, and self-understanding. This work isn’t about fixing you—it’s about helping you move forward in a way that feels more grounded and intentional.

How I practice
I’m a trauma-informed therapist who blends evidence-based and compassionate modalities to meet your unique needs. I draw from:
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy): To help you identify and shift negative thought patterns that hold you back
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy): To support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and healthier relationships
MI (Motivational Interviewing): To support you in making aligned changes, without judgment or pressure
IFS (Internal Family Systems): To help you explore the different “parts” of yourself with compassion, rather than shame
Each of these approaches helps you build emotional resilience, self-awareness, and authentic connection with yourself and others
Evidence-Based, Heart-Centered Care
My approach is grounded in a trauma-informed, client-led foundation but I also believe that meaningful change comes from honest reflection and gentle challenge.
I’m here to support you with warmth and compassion and when the time is right, I’ll also offer feedback, ask thoughtful questions, and invite you to stretch outside of your comfort zone. We’ll go at your pace, and I’ll always honor your readiness.
I integrate a blend of evidence-based modalities to meet your needs:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy – Identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns
Dialectical Behavior Therapy – Build skills for emotional regulation and resilience
Motivational Interviewing – Empower change through curiosity and collaboration
Feminist Therapy – Center your voice, lived experience, and identity
Internal Family Systems – Understand your internal world with compassion and clarity
Together, we’ll find the right rhythm, tools, and structure to support your growth at your pace, on your terms.
